The 16-year-old collected 200 used eyeglasses for recycling to the less fortunate around the world.  She arranged for an expo at the Glendora Public Library where she coordinated the entire day’s events. She had booths of information from the Blind Children’s Center, Foothill Center for the Partially Sighted, Village Books, Glendora Vision Center and Covina Eye Center to name a few. She also had Mayor Ken Herman speak in support of her project.
She reached out to elementary schools to show children the importance of eye care by inviting them to this event.
Garima volunteers at the EYE-DAS club for the visually impaired, which is where she became aware of the needs of the visually impaired and learned about their lifestyles.
Be sure to read more about Garima and her project inthe upcoming March-April issue of the Glendoran Magazine!

Publisher's Message: History Never Stands Still... PDF Print E-mail
W
hen we conceived the idea of a magazine in 1982, we agreed on the primary focus as historical. Our idea was to record and report local history in and around Glendora, CA.
We would recover information about people, places and events from the past. By adding happenings in the present and projecting things anticipated in the future, it would make an interesting format. That is exactly what we did!

After 25 years of publishing the Glendoran magazine, we have still much to do in recovering past history. There remains many unsolved questions about people, places and events in and around Glendora. We look forward to answering many of those questions with the assistance of our many loyal and knowledgeable readers. It is you who make it possible for us to constantly offer great stories, fabulous pictures and little known information about our unique community and its people.
With the advent of the new Glendoran magazine website, we hope to add additional depth to our magazine as we entertain and inform our readers about our town and its surrounding neighbors. With the use of additional photos and extension of some articles, surplus information can be enjoyed albeit through another media.

Please be patient as we break new ground and iron out the kinks and twists we know are ahead.

Thank you for your continued support and interest.
