Another from the Glendoran Archives... W hen the marketplace was considered for development with a Sam’s Club, mayor at the time, Larry Glenn, stated, “If we don’t get Sam’s, San Dimas will have Costco’s on the southeast corner of Lone Hill and Gladstone.” He was told, “Not True!” And many people believed it. In an undated letter from the organization Glendora First who opposed the Marketplace Development, they stated, “False statements have been made that San Dimas wants the Costco project. Not true! We have written confirmation from the city of San Dimas that they have no such plans.” It is amazing seeing the development come true. Costco opened May 16, 2008 on the southeast corner of Gladstone and Lone Hill, in San Dimas. And the late Larry Glenn’s prediction came true… |
